JUNIOR ULTIMATE

JUNIOR ULTIMATE COMMITTEE

Up until this year, Junior Ultimate has relied solely on the hard work of a few volunteers.

This year a new Junior Ultimate Committee has been formed to help distribute this work so that we can achieve even MORE in the UK Junior Ultimate scene.

Check out this map to see where in the UK there are current Junior teams. If your team is not listed here or you want to update the information, then email juniors@ukultimate.com with the details.

GB Junior Women

Well done to GBJW  who competed in Latvia against 3 other teams and came back with silver medals having won games internationally for the first time. Next year the team competes on home soil in Southampton, so if you are eligible, get on the GB Junior Women's Mailing List

GB Under 17s Open

Well done to GB U17s who competed in Latvia against 7 other teams and came back with silver medals and the Spirit trophy!

If you are under 16 years old (not turning 17 in 2007), then why don't you try out for the GB under 17s team that will be competing in Southampton, 2007? If you are interested in trying out for the squad, or for more information, please join the email list GB Under 17s Mailing List

GB Under 17s Girls

Sweden and Finland both managed to field a team of under 17s in Latvia this summer, and it is intended to grow this division next year so we have up to 8 junior girls teams competing. To make this happen, the tournament will probably have to take place in some Eastern European country to enable the likes of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Belarus, Ukraine and Russia to compete. The tournament will probably take place a couple of weeks before Europeans in Southampton so some players will get to play GB Girls and GB Junior Women. For more information, join the GB Under 17s Girls Mailing List

JUNIOR ULTIMATE COACHING

The Junior Ultimate Committee is going to be working on getting information to schools to help them include Ultimate Frisbee in their sports curriculum. More on this to come! If you are a teacher or know of a school that might be interested in this project, please email: juniors@ukultimate.com
